A Legacy Still Taking Shape
Build Forward SB has deep roots in our city and a history tied closely to construction education in the South Bend Community School Corporation.
Over more than six decades, the program has evolved in name and structure, but its purpose has remained consistent: create real-world learning opportunities for students through the work of building homes and developing practical trade skills.
Today, that mission continues through a model that brings students into every phase of the house build, from foundation to roofing, with guidance from experienced professionals. The result is a program that blends education, mentorship and community investment in a way few local learning environments can.
