For Students
What Students Can Expect
Students enter the program after completing the first Construction 1, a Career & Technical Education (CTE) course offered by SBCSC. Enrollment is handled through the student’s school guidance counselor. From there, students become part of an experience that goes far beyond textbook instruction. Participants are exposed to the full arc of a home build and learn by assisting with the work under professional guidance.
The program builds one house per year, offering students a chance to gain meaningful experience while contributing to a finished project with visible community impact in South Bend.
Approximately 20 to 25 students graduate from the program each year.
